Dental Insurance care for Scaling and Root Planing

Friday, Nov. 12th 2010 9:06 AM

I do not have dental insurance but I went to a dentist the other day since it been about three years since I last been to one.  $200 latter I am told that I need to have a Scaling and Root Planing.  Which the dentist told me it is because I do not floss.  My teeth are really good but not so much my gums I guess.

Any way I do not so much as doubt what the dentist is telling me it just without dental insurance I am talking about another $600.00 to be spent.  Will getting dental insurance now help me out.

Dental Insruance, Will dental insurance help cover my Bruxism

Thursday, Nov. 11th 2010 9:24 AM

Right now I have Bruxism.  I really only grind my teeth mostly at night when I sleep but also during the day if I am feeling stressed.  I do not have dental insurance right now, but would like to pick some up so I can see a dentist about my Bruxism .

Will dental insurance help me with the dental treatment needed?  Not sure all of what they can do for it but I know grinding my teeth can not be good for them.

Dental healt care, How do you handle Dental Anxiety

Wednesday, Nov. 10th 2010 9:12 AM

I have a high dental anxiety.   It is not so much that I feel as if the dentist is going to hurt me or that he or she is going to mess up my teeth either.  I do not dislike dentist either.   I know that they are only doing there job which is helping me have good oral health.

However I get sick once I get into a dental office I start to sweat  and get nervous.  I really do not like the feel of a dental office.  Not the waiting room nor when  you do finally get in the chair.  In fact it is worse once I am in the chair to be seen.

How do I deal with the sight and sounds of the dentist?   I mean the light is glaring you in the face and the dentist tools sound the worst.  I think this is most of my issues but it does keep me from going to the dentist like I know I should.

Dental health care, What is the symptoms and treatment for Oral Thrush

Tuesday, Nov. 9th 2010 8:53 AM

I am wanting to know what is the symptoms and treatment for Oral Thrush.  My mom has a friend that think she a know it all.   My mom listens to her because she does not like going to the dentist or doctor.

Any way her friend is telling her she has Oral Thrush and it not that big of a deal to just use a really strong mouthwash it will go away over time.  To me this is stupid to just listen to her.  I would like to know more about it.  Because if she really as something like that I am going to make her see a dentist/doctor regardless

Dental Help, Loose teeth under new braces

Monday, Nov. 8th 2010 4:10 PM

I just had braces put on over two weeks ago.  They really hurt at first but my mom and dentist told me that is normal.  Okay so now a few week latter and the soreness is mostly gone.  However I think one of my front teeth is loose under the braces.  I am really freaking out that my tooth is falling out.  Can that happen because of the braces?

Dental health care, useing a Miswak to clean your teeth.

Monday, Nov. 8th 2010 9:34 AM

I have a friend that really has good teeth.  He said that he uses a Miswak to clean his teeth with and that it is better then a tooth brush.  Looks like a twig to me.  However, I have had two cavities in the past two years and he never gets any cavities.

Is a Miswak really better the a toothbrush?  Should I be asking my parents to let me use one of those?  Just wondering really what it is and how it is better.

What are the dental insurance health care reforms

Saturday, Nov. 6th 2010 10:20 AM

I currently have dental insurance for my family.  When my son stop going to school full time our dental plan dropped him.  This was two years ago when he was 20.  I am wondering if with the new dental insurance health care reforms does not my dental insurance have to take him back?

He is still not a full time student but he does live back at home for now.  I know he has not been to a dentist since the last time he was on our dental insurance plan.   I would like for him to see the dental but insurance is a must if I am the one paying for him to see a dentist.

Dental health care, Root canal therapy needed no dental insurance

Friday, Nov. 5th 2010 7:05 AM

My dentist told me that I have a new cavity under an old filling and that now I need to have a root canal done.  But since there a slight crack down the tooth he said I need to see a  Endodontist to have it done.

My current dental plan which is an HMO does not cover for me to see a specialist of any type.  My dentist told me that it could run around  800 – 1000 to have the root canal treatment done by an Endodontist give or take who I go to.

I could use some help.  Where can I go to help me with this additional dental cost I was not ready for?

Dental Insurance health care, What is a Periodontist

Thursday, Nov. 4th 2010 8:56 AM

I went to the dentist the other day and I had no cavities which I though was good since I have not seen a dentist in many year prior to this point.  I was told by the dentist that I do have gum disease and that I need to see a Periodontist.

Why so I need to see a Periodontist?  I am not too sure what that is but I am guessing it has to do with my gums.  Why can not the dentist just do a deap cleaning that I thought you would get when people have gum issues.

I do not have dental insurance and I know if I go to one of those Periodontist people it will cost me way more then I can afford.   Is it really all that important that I go?  After all my teeth are just fine and my gums do not hurt me.

Dental health care, Dental abscess

Wednesday, Nov. 3rd 2010 9:51 AM

I think I may have a abscess by my back tooth.  I been hurting there for a few days and now my mouth taste foul once in a while.  I been rinsing my mouth out with strong mouthwash but it does not seem to be helping much.

What will a dentist do for an abscess?   I not sure if I have to go to the dentist since in behind my back tooth and it not my tooth that is the problem.   Either way I have no insurance to see a dentist so what can I do to lower my cost if I have to see one.

Supplemental Dental insurance, getting a second dental plan

Tuesday, Nov. 2nd 2010 8:34 AM

The dental insurance that I have currently though my job as a 1000.00 year max per person.  Which is really not much coverage when you need more the two cleaning a year.  My wife needs to have a few crowns with in the next year and she would like it all to be done around the same time but we will max the limit of our coverages.

If I get a second dental plan will this be helpful to us or not?  I was thinking there maybe a supplemental dental that we could pick up where it would make some sense for us.  Please advise.

Dental insurance benefits for a ful time job

Sunday, Oct. 31st 2010 8:14 AM

I have been thinking about getting braces put on for an over bite.  If I get a full time job that has dental benefits will they help pay from braces?  however I also may only keep a full time job for about six months as I am trying to get into grad school.

Would I be able to keep my insurance?  If not and I get braces during the six months would I still have that covered since I had the plan when I got the braces.   Or do I lose everything once I stop working full time?

Getting adult dental braces would a dental plan help me with the cost

Friday, Oct. 29th 2010 8:33 AM

However a friend of mine told me they have a dental discount plan called Careington that offer dental discounted saving off any type of braces.  He does not have braces but he said that what he was told when he got the plan.  So I found it here on your website.   I just wanted to confirm that if I get the careington plan I would have some saving off invisaligns?  Can you tell me more about the plan and how it would work for me?

My teeth are really sore after having my braces put on

Wednesday, Oct. 27th 2010 3:54 PM

So I am new to having braces.  Right now I can safely say I hate them.  I am so  sore my mouth and teeth really hurt.   I would like to know how long will I be in such pain.  No way I can put up with this pain the whole time I am in braces.  As it is I can only eat really soft foods.  I kinda wish I did not have the braces put on in the first place.

Dental health care, why is dental care getting so expensive

Wednesday, Oct. 27th 2010 8:58 AM

I realize that prices do go up but it just seems to me that the cost of even just your basic dental care is so expensive it making it harder and harder to afford.  I really think that is why so many people do not go to the dentist until they have something wrong with their teeth because of the high cost the dentist is charging.

At least that is why I have not seen a dentist is over three years I just can not afford to see a dentist at the going rate of 250.00 for office visits, X-rays and a cleaning.  This is high way roberly and there is not much you can do about it.  I even looked into going to a dental school but the waiting to get in is very long and same with clinics.  They are also not free like many people seem to make out that they are.  What is one to do?
