Dental Insurance for Dentures at a young age. I am only 26 and I have very poor teeth. I went to a dentist for a free consult and was told with all the dental work I would need it would cost me over $9000.00. This includes six root canal with six crowns, many fillings and eight veneers. The dental benefits I just received from my job will pay only 20% which is around $2000.00.
I know this is a big savings but I still do not have over $7000.00 to pay for all the dental work needed. I wondering if it would be cheaper for me just to have all the teeth pulled and get dentures. I am in a lot of dental pain because of my teeth and I am at a lost as how to afford fixing this larger then life issue.

Dental Health Care, Proper Denture Care Proper denture care is important. Dentures even when covered by dental insurance can still be costly so making sure to take proper care of your dentures will help them last longer and safe you money in having to have them replaces sooner then necessary.
You will want to use a soft bristle toothbrush in order to avoid damaging your dentures. You still need to brush your dentures carefully. Make sure you are careful not to damage the surface of your dentures or bend the attachments. You can clean your dentures is by using over the counter denture cleansers available in most food stores.
Although you can use regular toothpaste I suggest avoiding them since dentures are sensitive and you can easy damage their surface, with abrasive toothpaste. Another cleaning option for dentures is by using an ultrasonic denture cleanser. However I suggest making sure you buy one that has been proven safe.
Do not use bleach when cleaning your dentures. Also do not use vinegar as it can cause your dentures to dry out. Do not use house hold cleaners. Though there are some people that will use mild hand soup or dish soup I would not suggest doing so. If you do make sure you rinse them thoroughly under the faucet with warm to cool water.

I have had my denture for over seven years now and I just need to have new ones. At the time I had them I had dental insurance but there was no real reason for me to keep dental insurance when I had no teeth. So I cancelled my dental insurance not to long after getting dentures.
Any repairs I needed I just paid in full but my dentist that I been seeing stated that I really should be new dentures. Is there any dental insurance where I can get coverage for new dentures. I am not sure where to find something like that.

The cost is going to depend on the type of Insurance Plan you have. Sometimes the cost of X-rays for Orthodontic treatment is not covered at all so you need to review your plan benefits. If you do not have Insurance then the cost of any X-rays would depend on what the dentist is charging. Dentist to dentist cost varies and would be hard to say what one charges and why. That would be something you would need to shop out.
If you are looking for a discount plan to help off set the cost of your orthodontic treatment most discount plans will save you about 20% for that type of service. You do need to go to a dentist in their network. There is no out side network so if you are trying to stay with a current dentist make sure they are in the plan before buying one.
I have listed a good web site for dental insurance and dental discount plans. I hope you can find what you need.
