Dental Implant Cost – Dental Insurance Healthcare

08/09/23

The cost of Dental Implants May Vary.

When discussing the cost of dental implants, it isn’t straightforward to mention one single price. The main reason is that the dental needs of each person differ significantly. Some might have to replace only one or two teeth with implants, while others might replace the entire upper or lower teeth. Other times there is a dental reconstruction which also needs to be considered.

When breaking down the cost of dental implants, you need to consider the following:

  • Cost of each crown and the dental implant attached to the jawbone.
  • The extra cost sometimes needed is for any additional dental work such as gum or bone grafting.
  • The cost for dental implants must factor in any consultation fees, X-rays or CT scans, check-ups, and the cost of follow-up or aftercare treatment.
  • There are extreme costs when a patient undergoes a complex dental procedure such as sinus elevation.
  • Many dental insurance plans do not offer coverage for dental implants; if they do, it is minimal. That is why dental implant procedures can range between $1000 – $2000 or more per tooth.

Dental Implants are worth their value but not something you take lightly. Make sure you talk to your dentist about the cost. Get the consultation and know all the steps needed for you to have dental implants.

A more advanced alternative to dentures or crowns is dental implants.

Dental implants have become a more advanced alternative to having dentures or crowns work. Whereas crowns, partials, and dentures will last a few years, after which you have to replace or repair them, dental implants are meant to last a lifetime. Dental implants may cost more than crowns, partials, and dentures because they look, feel, and function like a natural set of teeth. Nobody can tell the difference whether you have dental implants or a natural set of teeth. Not everyone can have dental implants, so discuss your dental care options with your dentist. Also, dental implants are not usually covered by dental insurance, so you want to budget for them.

Teeth and Gum Injures – Dental Insurance Healthcare

29/08/23

What to do when a Toddler Injures their Teeth or Gums?

Accidents happen, toddlers learning to walk may fall, and young kids playing a sport may take a ball to the mouth. What is important is knowing what to do and being prepared. If your child’s baby tooth gets dislodged, you can not save the tooth. However, you will want to consult a dentist about a space maintainer. Baby teeth that come out too soon may need a space maintainer to prevent other teeth from shifting.

If your child knocks out a permanent tooth, quick action is required. A permanent tooth has the best chance of survival if replaced within the first 30 minutes. Be advised when a permanent tooth is knocked out, always hold the tooth by the crown and not the root. Do not rinse the tooth with tap water. If necessary, use milk to rinse the tooth. Then whenever possible, put the tooth back in the tooth socket. Do this only if your child is old enough not to swallow the tooth. If the tooth can not be reinserted in the tooth socket, then put the tooth in a glass of milk and see a dentist ASAP. You should know your dentist’s office hours and if you can come in for an emergency at any time.

How Much are Tooth Extractions – Dental Insurance Healthcare

02/09/19

Question I know I will be needing to have at least two teeth pulled due to them being broken/decayed. I do not have dental insurance currently and from what I can tell there are waiting periods for extractions, and I do not want to have to continue to wait. So about how much do extractions cost?

Reply: Well cost will vary from dentist to dentist. There is no one set price for dental care that all dentist charges. Not knowing your state also make is hard to give some cost range. In addition depending on the placement of the tooth will and which tooth is being extract will also effect the cost of extractions.

To try and give you some idea:

An average tooth removal (non surgical) able to be done by a family/general dentist can range around $75.00 to $300.00 a tooth. Where as a surgical extraction utilizing anesthesia can run around $185.00 to $700.00 a tooth.

You can see how price can vary. I would suggest looking for an HMO insurance plan in your area as they typically do not have waiting periods like many PPO’s plans and they will help you save money on the cost of having your needed dental care done by a plan provider.

Another cost saving options would be a dental discount plan as they do typicall do not have waiting periods and will help you save money on any needed dental care service provided by a plan dentist.

This website sell both HMO and Dental Discount plans in most states. Just enter your zip code in the quote box provided to review all the available dental insurance and plan options. If you have any questions please call our office at 310-534-3444 M-F 8am-4pm

Dental Insurance, Annual Benefits

03/02/17

What is an Annual Benefit ?

In order to help contain costs and to help keep your plan more affordable, your plan may limit your benefits by number of procedures and/or dollar amount in a given year. In most cases, particularly if you have been getting regular preventive care, these limitations allow for adequate coverage.

Dental Insurance, Why dental implants are considered a cosmetic dental service.

19/01/17

For many dental insurance companies dental implants fall under a cosmetic dental service or cosmetic dentistry.  The problem is that many dental insurance will not cover or offer benefits for this type of dental service.  One reason why that is the case, is that a general dentist normally do not provide implant services. In order to have implants you have to see a cosmetic dentist or a specialist. Keep in mind that many dental insurance plans do not cover for specialist either.

Another reason is a cost factor. The cost of dental implants are still much higher the the cost of denture, partials and bridges that are normally covered under most dental insurance plans.    You may be able to get dental implant services at a discount plan buying a dental discount plan. With a dental discount plan you can save around 15 to 20 percents off the cost of dental implants if there are dental providers within the plan network.
