29/01/20

Question: I looking for a low cost dental insurance plan for myself. I am on a tight budget and can not afford more then say $20.00 a month for insurance yet at the same time I hoping for it to be a good plan with benefits that make sense.

Reply: Good would depend on your dental care needs. But lower cost dental insurance plan option would be your dental HMO plans. They tend to be much more affordable and budget friendly

Short term dental insurance with no waiting periods.

25/01/20

Question: I looking for a monthly insurance plan that I can use that dose not have waiting periods where I am not forced into keeping it for a year.

Reply: Most insurance plans that provide a monthly payment options can be canceled with a 30 day write request to do so. Sure buying a PPO plan that has waiting periods for short term use may not make the best sense.

You may want to review dental HMO plans a they generally do not have waiting periods before their benefits start. However, read each plan carefully some do have cancellation charges if cancelled before having it for one full year.

Dental Healthcare – Periodontal (gum) Disease,

22/01/20

Question: I was told that I have periodontal disease and that I should have deep cleaning but the cost is so high since I do not have insurance currently for my dental care needs. I starting looking for insurance but all the plans I seen have a year or more waiting period before they help out with the cost of deep cleanings. What can I do ?

Reply: Seems as if you are reviewing dental PPO’s plans many PPO plans do have waiting periods for major dental care and periodontal cleaning dose fall under major for most plans. However, there are some PPO’s plans that do not have waiting periods though they tend to be more costly.

You may want to review or look for dental HMO plans. You will need to go to a plan provider under an HMO but they typically do not have any waiting periods and will make having a deep cleaning much more affordable.

Dental Healthcare Insurance, PPO Dental Plans, Some Thoughts When Selecting a Plan

19/04/16

Participants insured with a dental PPO insurance plan are responsible for paying their deductible before receiving any reimbursement.  One of the key differences between dental HMO insurance and dental PPO insurance is that DPPOs usually allow dentists to spend more time with insured patients.

Dentists in dental HMO insurance plans are expected to see a certain number of patients, so some dentists have been known to rush through dental appointments.  A PPO dental insurance plan consists of numerous dentists that sign up to join a network insurance system or group with hopes that they will have many patients to service.  When subscribers join a PPO dental plan, they benefit from lower out-of-pocket costs when they see one of the network dentists.

Dental Healthcare Insurance, Bad Teeth do to Past Drug Usage

25/03/16

Question: Although I have been off drugs for a few years now, my teeth are really bad due to my prior drug usage.   I just broke a part of my back tooth off yesterday.  I have no money since I only have my part time fast food job, while I am taking a office job training classes.

I do not want to ask for help from my parents since I put them though a lot and I am now just showing how I can take care of myself. What can I do to get some dental help so that when I do start looking for an office clerk job I will have at least a half way better smile then what I do now.

Reply: You may want to look into any dental schools and on clinics that may be in your area. These types of places will normally base their charges on what you can afford to pay. Though you will need to ask them as they are all different.  Another option would be to look into getting a low cost dental HMO insurance plan that will at least help you with all your over all dental heath care needs at a much more budget friendly cost. Though note you may still need dental care that can be costly which may mean saving up for it before having it done.

Dental Healthcare Insurance, Increasing Cost of Dental Health Care

With the ever increasing cost of dental care dental insurance is needed more then ever before.  If you comparison shop dental offices for just the preventive services, office visit, check ups, x-rays and basic cleaning without insurance you can see prices ranging from round $200 – $300 and higher.  That not even taking into account if you have to have other minor or major dental care issues that need to be address.

Yet with most dental insurance plan they provide preventive services at little or no cost to you.  Studies suggest that people who have dental insurance are more likely make and keep their regular dental visits there by reducing their risk of having to have larger more costly dental care services.

Question: I am a full time student. My parents are dropping me from their dental insurance plan.  My mom said that I can get dental insurance on my own if I want. She is not going to pay for it so if I do get dental insurance I need something cheap.  Maybe a plan that offers a student discount on the cost would be great.  I do not want to spend a lot for dental insurance since I only go to the dentist twice a year.

Dental Healthcare Insurance, Full Mouth Implants Needed.

05/02/16

Question: Any one know of about how much it would cost to get a full mouth worth of dental implants?  My husband had dentures top and bottom right now but seems to always have problems with them.  He would like to get full implants.

However, we do not have insurance that would cover him getting implants.  Is there anything I could get that will help us with the cost of implants?  If so about how much?  I am thinking we may not be able to afford him getting implants even though I would like him to have them if we could.

Reply:  Most dental insurance plans do not provide for the cost of dental implants because cost is too high.  There are dental discount plans options that can save him around 15-20 percent off the cost of implants.  With a full mouth implants that would be extensive savings but you will need to find a dentist in the plan that provide that type of dental service.

Implants cost will very depending on your area and the dentist.  But average range can be from around $1000-$2000 per tooth.  You can see where cost for full mouth can get extremely costly. However normally the dentist provides discounts for having more then just one implant you will just have to shop around to get an idea of cost.
