Dental Insurance Health Care, Dentist treating an unsuspecting patient in a fraudulent manner

Sunday, Aug. 19th 2012 6:45 AM

I am really worried that another dentist is messing with me.  Over three years ago I had a dentist who deliberately damaged one of my good teeth, order to make more money off of me.  It has made me not want to go to the dentist but I needed a cleaning since it been a while.

So I  recently gave in and  went to another reputed dentist for cleaning. I am now having frequent pain in different tooth, swelling of gums at different points on different days. That is, the pain is not located in one place. Could the dentist have done something to trigger these pains?

Dental Insurance Health Care, What is Dry Socket.

Friday, Aug. 17th 2012 5:42 AM

After having a tooth removed such as a wisdom tooth dry socket can occur when the blood clot for the healing process becomes dislodged or does not form.  When that happens, the bone and fine nerve ending are exposed to air, liquids and foods.  This will delay the healing process and can be very painful.  One should see a dentist right away if you suspect you may have dry socket.

Wednesday, Aug. 15th 2012 3:35 PM

For over four years now I been wanting to have a tongue ring,  but some people I know told me it can cause you to get a gap between your teeth.  I do not see how that can happen when the ring is in your tongue but I do not want to have gaps.  Is there any truth in this or are they just trying to scare me out of having a tongue ring?

Dental Insurance Health Care, After Wisdom Teeth Extractions.

Monday, Aug. 13th 2012 3:23 PM

After having wisdom teeth or other teeth removed you want to make sure you taking proper care of the area to quickly heal. Make sure you follow the dentist aftercare instructions.  The dentist will go over how to take care of your extraction sites.

However here are a few Don’t.   Do not rinse the area for at least twenty-four hours after having the tooth removed.  Keep your fingers and tongue away form the extraction site.  This is tempting but it can not heal if you are poking at it.

Try to avoid eating and drinking until all numbing as worn off.  You do not want to bite your mouth or tongue.

Do not drink though straws because you want to avoid sucking. If you are a smoker, no smoking for at least a day or two. Since smoking can interfere with the healing process, and the sucking motion could dislodge the blood clot at the extraction site needed for healing.

Dental Insurance Health Care, Improving Oral Healthcare of Elderly

Thursday, Aug. 9th 2012 1:48 PM

Due to the increase awareness in dental and oral health care seniors are able to maintain their teeth. However the problem comes for the elderly that can not easily receive dental care.  For  many elderly oral health care becomes harder to meet.  Factors such as no dental insurance, fixed income and the inability to get to a dental office.

There are low cost dental insurance plans that an individual can buy which will help with dental cost hopefully fitting into tighter budgets.  Check to see if you have an local dentist that can make house calls for basic check ups. If the individual is living in a retirement housing or nursing home check to make sure they have on-site professional dental care.

It is very important that seniors maintain their oral health care, since poor dental care can lead to stroke, arterial disease, and pneumonia

Dental Insurance Health Care, Oral and Dental Healthcare of The Elderly.

Tuesday, Aug. 7th 2012 7:11 AM

Are the elderly receiving proper dental care in their nursing home?  The fact is that older people in both hospital and nursing homes may not be receiving proper oral care and are at risk for dental problems.

You want to make sure that the hospital or a nursing home is responsible of providing oral health care to their patients.  That they have a high level of initial training for nurses and health care professionals regarding oral care for the elderly, otherwise the care of such elderly individuals might be sub-optimal.

Dental Insurance Health Care, Poor Dental Care is the Norm in Many Nursing Homes.

Sunday, Aug. 5th 2012 12:02 PM

According to studies it is estimated that one-half to three-quarters of all nursing home residents have their own teeth into old age.  This may be because of greater dental health awareness as well as fluoridated water.

Even though this is good news that seniors today are able to keep their teeth much long, the situation has created a predicament for the residents in nursing homes as caregivers often lack the expertise or time needed to maintain good daily dental care. Poor dental care can lead to stroke, arterial disease, and pneumonia.

Check to make sure that your nursing home provides on-site professional dental care.  Make sure that the administrator believes that good dental care is important to good overall health care.

Dental Care and Correct Brushing Tips.

Wednesday, Aug. 1st 2012 12:41 PM

Some people may brush their teeth twice a day but still not get the full benefits of brushing since they are not brushing incorrectly.  When brushing your teeth you want to make sure you tilt your brush at a 45 degree angle against the gum line. Sweep or roll the brush away from your gum line. Gently brush the outside and inside of your teeth make sure you brush the chewing surface of each tooth using short back and forth strokes.

When you finish brushing your teeth gently brush your tongue this will help to remove bacteria and also freshen up your breath.  If you are not sure if you are brushing correctly ask your dentist to show you.  This is not a silly question since preventive dental care starts at home.

Having Good Oral Hygiene and Proper Dental Habits

Tuesday, Jul. 31st 2012 11:57 AM

Having good dental care habits and maintaining proper care of your teeth is your first step in having a life time of healthy teeth and low dental cost.  Daily preventive dental care starts with you.  By brushing and flossing  you will help help or prevent dental problems before they develop.  Keeping your dental cost at the dentist low and affordable and making going to the dentist less painful and worrisome.

Good daily dental healthcare would include:  Brushing thoroughly at least twice a day. Flossing at least one a day more when needed. Eating a healthy balance diet is good for your over all health including your teeth.  Try to limit snacking between meal and having to much surgery foods.

There are many good dental products available. Find a toothbrush you like use tooth paste that includes more then just whiting care, different mouthwash have gum care and will also help prevent plaque build up.  Having good dental care habits will not void the fact that you still need to have regular dental visits at least twice a year more when advise by your dentist.  By including a good dental insurance and or dental plan will also help control your dental cost.

Dental ADA codes and filing PPO dental claim.

Sunday, Jul. 29th 2012 11:27 AM

I have a dental PPO plan that I get though my employer.  I do not use it all that much because every time I do it becomes a hassle with filing out dental claims and how I have to pay in advance for my services.  I getting to the point that I am going to drop the dental benefits since I do not see it being worth it.  When I file the claim most of the dental services are either  not covered or not cover up to the amount it should be.

When I call the company they say it is because I am getting dental services not covered on my plan and that I can refer to the ADA code list of dental service covered but I do not know what that is.  Do you offer any dental insurance that does not make you jump though hoops just to have claims paid.

Don’t forsake quality when buying a dental insurance plan.

Wednesday, Jul. 25th 2012 11:14 AM

Sometimes finding the plan with “the” lowest cost, isn’t the best solution. It’s should be about finding a quality dental health care  insurance plan at a competitive price.  Costs for dental procedures can be quite high but, by having dental  insurance it will help make dental services more affordable.  Today’s health insurance, including your dental plan, is designed to help you get the care you need at a reasonable cost.

Most individual dental insurance plans tend to emphasize preventive dental care.  By offing free to very low cost preventive dental care to the insured it helps the company save money in paying out larger dental claims.  If preventive dental care is affordable under the dental plan, the odds are higher that you will go and have the required dental check ups and cleanings. Therefore a dentist will be able to catch small dental problems before they become major dental services. In the long run saving money not only for the company but the plan holder.

In combination with information about different costs, benefits, discounts, choices and services make sure to compare dental insurance plans carefully.  Look at more then just preventive care. Compare some of the higher cost dental services whether you need them now or not.   By buying a dental insurance plan that offers good benefits on more then just preventive care you will be more likely to keep and use the dental insurance plan you purchased.
