Dental Insuance, Why is dental services not covered under your health insurance

I do not understand why dental is separate from your health.  If having bad teeth can cause you to have health issues why can’t your health cover for your dental needs.   Are there any health plans that include dental?   If not were do you get dental as a separate plan?
