Such as dental clinics or dental schools both normally are much cheaper then general dentist. Depending on our dental needs and sometimes your cost of living they will try and make their services affordable for you. I suggest looking into this as an option if you can not afford even a low cost dental insurance plan.

So I do not think it matter whether it is an HMO plan or a PPO plan you get both good and bad dentist in both. Just remember in both types of dental plan you can change your provider if you decide that you do not like them.

If you are wanting to go outside the plan network it may be best for you to file out your claims first before work is started. That way you know what your true cost is going be for the dental services ahead of time.

I go outside my plan network and this is what I do. It comes back higher but I still rather stay with my dentist since I know they do really good work. That the price I am willing to spend. My dental insurance is still covering for part of the cost so it works well for me.

I never had any UCR charges though my plan has them if I go over UCR. However I made sure the dentist I wanted to go to takes the plan and was in the plan network. I think you need to look for a better dental office.
